The New Boba Chummy Was Never Supposed to Be Just a Café
Notes on building a place people don't have to rush out of.
Boba Chummy Editorial · August 19, 2026

We could have built another café. Order. Sit. Drink. Leave. But that felt a little too predictable.
A place, not a transaction
We keep coming back to one idea: the room should give you a reason to stay.
We didn't want to open another café. We wanted to build somewhere people didn't have to rush out of.
Not home. Not work. A place for the random Tuesday hangout. The first date. The laptop session that somehow becomes dinner. The quick boba that isn't quick anymore. That's what we're building. And we're still figuring out what else it can become.
